Partnership with Dream Drives for Kids

One Drivers Club Hosts Fundraiser for Dream Drives for Kids

One Drivers Club Seattle recently hosted its first fundraiser benefiting Dream Drives for Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering children facing serious medical conditions a unique experience with private tours and rides from a collection of sports and supercars.

This event raised an impressive $36,000, thanks in part to the generous employer matching at Microsoft and Walmart, to support the nonprofit’s expansion into new markets in the U.S. and ensuring more children get the chance to experience their automotive dreams.

We have been funding Dream Drives for Kids for the past ten years ourselves and providing experiences to around 25 kids per year,” says Eric Peterson, co-founder of the non-profit. “Now we want to expand our reach and create joy for hundreds of children a year. We realized that was going to take additional financial support, and thankfully the Seattle Car, One Drivers Club, and Avants community helped meet that need.

With each ride, children choose from a variety of stunning, high-performance cars, get time with the vehicle owners, and take home special gear gift boxes and memories of a lifetime. The programs are available at no cost to the families. As with all Dream Drives for Kids programs, the goal is to create an unforgettable, stress-free experience for children who are undergoing medical treatment, bringing joy and excitement during challenging times.

The partnership began in June this year, with multiple opportunities scheduled to experience the luxury cars and facilities.

We share our Ferrari collection with Dream Drives,” say two One Drivers Club Seattle Members who have been volunteering their time and cars to the effort. “It’s amazing to see their faces light up while sitting in a car they may have only seen in movies.”

Currently One Drivers Club members are making a Ferrari 812 GTS, a Ferrari 296 GTS, and a Ferrari 458 Spider available to the program for drives, and plans are in place to add several Porsche and more Ferrari starting in early 2025. Kids can also sit in and start up multiple other cars thanks to the generosity of the One Drivers Club Member base.

It’s truly heartwarming to see the incredible response from the community,” says Will Melfi, General Manager of One Drivers Club Seattle. “Thanks to the generosity of our members, we’re able to expand Dream Drive's reach in Seattle and bring joy to children and families.”

How the Dream Drive Process Works

If your child is undergoing medical treatment in or near Seattle, here's how the process works:

  1. Register your interest in a Dream Drive via the organization website and a volunteer will contact you for additional details.
  2. The family may then select from a number of partners who donate access to their vehicles.
  3. Schedule a date.
  4. On the day of the visit, families are welcomed at the selected venue, where a private tour and sometimes private rides await.
